The Southern Poverty Law Center's recent report on right-wing extremism and hate groups documents that violent actions and political rhetoric by radical right-wing groups has increased in the past year, most notably among nativist, anti-immigrant vigilante groups, the number of which "soared by nearly 80%, adding some 136 new groups during 2009."
