Reporters for the Florida Times Union, Topher Sanders and Mary Kelli Palka, uncovered deep problems when a school district pushed enrollment in Advance Placement courses though many students were not prepared to pass the exam.
"Jon Nerf, a veteran AP teacher at Paxon, said about 47 percent of his 140 AP English language students aren't reading at grade level, and "from the moment they walk in they're way over their head."
