Today's Rewind: World Population Day

WorldPopDay.jpg

July 11th marked the 20th anniversary ofthe United Nation's Population Fund's World Population Day.

While seemingly benign as the day promotes the empowerment of women, the literature and information (from 2008) bolsters population control, citing the use of fewer resources (note: by poor families) as a benefit and outcome of wide-spread family planning. Well, World Population Day, let's talk about re-distribution of resources, shall we?

Pierre Desrochers and Andrew Reed provide an a critique of World Population day here.
